Collegetown Leadership and Diversity Camp – January 3 – 7, 2018
What is Collegetown@ASU?
Collegetown@ASU in a student organization at Arizona State University that fosters an appreciation of cultural diversity and creates awareness of social issues, as well as their impact on society. Collegetown stems from the non-profit organization Anytown, and provides training workshops, experiential programs and overnight camps and conferences centered around youth leadership, diversity awareness and human and civil rights.
The Annual Collegetown Leadership and Diversity camp is seeking dynamic graduate students, faculty, staff and community members to serve as Advisors.
Duties of Advisors
Advisors have the unique opportunity to facilitate components of the curriculum to camp delegates (generally 70-90 attendees). This person also assists in administering and implementing the day-to-day activities during camp including:
- Facilitate 1-2 large group activities on various topics of diversity, gender, social justice, personal accountability in accordance with the Collegetown camp curriculum.
- Co-facilitate a discussion group with an ASU student counselor
- Encourage delegates to participate fully in the program
- Be available to delegates and counselors during down time and meals.
- Attend the entirety of camp that will be held in Prescott, AZ. Dates: January 3 – 7, 2018
