In the era of #MeToo, there are many questions concerning appropriate behavior in workplaces and defining harassment. Join us for “Navigating the Gray Areas,” a conversation between students and professionals from academia and non-academic professions.
This event will include activities to encourage nuanced perspectives about the spectrum of sexual violence, from gender norms to sexual harassment and assault, and will feature a panel of professionals to lead a discussion on policies, handling difficult situations, and engaging in dialogue in the workplace.

Panelists:
Erin Ellison
Erin Ellison is the Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusion. She has an extensive
background in EO-related work with experience in investigations, affirmative action, mediation,
and educational equity. Her previous work experience includes positions with Arizona State
University, the Metropolitan Council (Minnesota), the City of St. Paul Department of Human
Rights and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. As the Director, Erin works
extensively with academic units and HR on complaint investigations, trainings, conflict
resolutions, affirmative action and application of EO-related laws and policies. Erin holds a
Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Juris Doctor degree
from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law). She is admitted to
practice law in California and Minnesota. Additionally, Erin serves as a Judge Advocate in the
U.S. Army JAG Corps, Reserve Component and is knowledgeable on military-related laws and
regulations, as well as EO policies and SHARP (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response &
Prevention) programs within the military.
Erin is married with two children and is the daughter of ASU Football Hall of Famer, Windlan
Hall.
Jennifer McGovern
Jennifer McGovern is the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Retention for the Arizona Diamondbacks. She has been helping organizations achieve their goals in a constantly changing environment since 1994. Her passion for organizations to maximize the potential of their labor forces has opened doors for her to work with non-profit, small business, technology, state and federal government and volunteer organizations throughout the United States. Jennifer is certified through the Society of Human Resources Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and earned her BA in Administration Management from California State University of San Bernardo. Her work to improve the quality of lives for soldiers and their families has been recognized with The Yellow Rose of Texas and the Dr. Mary E. Walker awards. Jennifer is currently pursuing her MSHRM and volunteering to help Veterans, college students and disconnected youth find employment opportunities in Arizona, while also being a mother to a daughter in college and a rescue dog.
Imelda Ojeda
Imelda Ojeda is a social worker, immigrant, and community servant with years of experience working in the social and behavioral health systems, from early childhood, homelessness, youth and families, and community development. She currently works as an intervention counselor with high school students, and as an instructor for ASU School of Social Work. Imelda is also the founder of a grassroots community space for social workers in Arizona (AZSWN.com), an active board member for the Maryvale YMCA, and a committee members for the Phoenix Women’s march. Imelda was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico and after completing high school decided to move to Arizona to pursue higher education. She holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a double Master’s degree in Social Work and Public Administration from Arizona State University. As a Social Worker and public servant, Imelda strives to continue fostering her passion and career in the public sector to address the unique needs of the Southwest population.
Jodi Preudhomme
Jodi serves as the Arizona State University Title IX Coordinator and Special Counsel, focusing primarily on employment law and student affairs issues. Her Special Counsel position relates to matters that do not conflict with her Title IX duties. For eight years prior to her appointment as Title IX Coordinator, Jodi was an Associate General Counsel. Before working at the university, she was with the Department of Defense, Defense Contract Management Agency. For six years prior to that, she focused her practice on employment law while serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Arizona Attorney General and as a Deputy Maricopa County Attorney.
Renee Klug
Renee Klug brings to her role as University International Educator, Senior, 17 years of English and ESL teaching experience throughout the U.S. and overseas, most recently with ASU’s Global Launch. Renee’s expertise is in building academically rigorous curricula while fostering supportive classroom environments. A graduate of Biola University and LIU/Stony Brook Southampton, Renee specializes in working with students from Asia, the Middle East, and India. Her mission in this role is to work closely with ASU faculty to help facilitate cross-cultural understanding and produce more successful international student graduates by providing strategic training, focused on students’ cultural backgrounds and academic needs. Along with training, Renee develops curriculum for and teaches in the International Academic Success Center (I-ASC), a free service to all ASU students that offers academic support in writing, strategic reading, and communication skills.
